Wrongful death lawsuit filed against man who allegedly murdered Holly Grim

Wrongful death lawsuit filed

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The family of the late Holly Grim has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the man who allegedly kidnapped the Lehigh County woman in 2013 and then killed her.

The lawsuit filed by the attorney for Grim's estate is seeking more than $50,000 in damages from Michael Horvath.

Police say Horvath kidnapped Grim from her home in Lower Macungie Township.

He then allegedly murdered her and buried her body outside his Monroe County home.

The lawsuit filed in Lehigh County court says Grim's death devastated son Zachary, who was 16 when his mother vanished and denied him financial and other benefits because of Horvath's actions.

"The criminal justice system will deal with him and is dealing with him, but that doesn't compensate the family for what they lost, namely Zach's parent," said Steven Bergstein, attorney for Holly Grim estate.

The lawsuit is seeking a jury trial.
