Man admits making bombs

LEVITTOWN, Pa. - Police say a man from Bucks County admitted to building bombs as a hobby.

Authorities responding to a house fire around 1 a.m. Monday said they discovered an explosive device made by 30-year-old Thomas Piscione had accidentally gone off in his Levittown ranch home and blew out several windows and the chimney.

Piscione faces charges including risking a catastrophe and reckless endangerment.

No one else was home at the time of the explosion and subsequent fire.

Levittown police said Piscione wasn't injured but his hair was singed and soot covered his face.

He is being held on $1 million bail. It couldn't immediately be determined if he had an attorney.
