Mahanoy District Attorney says officer was justified in shooting

MAHANOY CITY, Pa. - Schuylkill County's top cop says a police officer did the right thing when he opened fire on a man who led them on a high speed chase.

District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon says the officer was "justified" in the shooting of John Pino in Mahanoy Township in August.

During the chase Pino allegedly drove at high speeds and backed into two police cars nearly striking two officers.

The DA says Pino placed the public at risk by his driving.

Pino is facing several charges in the chase.
