Man, 73, struck by car, killed while walking to mailbox

State police say a 73-year-old man died after he was hit by a car while crossing a street. They say Ferdinand Jacker was trying to cross Old Route 22 in Greenwich Township to check his mailbox, when he was struck. It happened around 4:45 this morning in the 12 hundred block of Old 22. State police closed part of the road while they were on scene.
