Man arrested, charged in Lancaster County hit-and-run

EPHRATA, Pa. - Ephrata Police arrested a man Saturday afternoon who struck a pedestrian in Lancaster County.

Miguel Martin, 21, of Akron told police during an interview that he struck Abby Grimm, 44, of Ephrata, Saturday morning at 2:25 a.m. in the 400 block of East Main Street in Ephrata. 

Martin was caught after an employee at a local parts store told police around 4:00 p.m. that a customer just purchased a passenger side mirror for a GMC truck. Ephrata Police had earlier alerted local vehicle parts stores and the public in an attempt to find the vehicle.

Police located the vehicle at a residence in Akron.

Grimm said in the interview that he was driving his GMC truck, struck Grimm and failed to stop. 

Grimm was sent to the hospital with a serious head injury.

Martin was charged with Accidents involving Death or Personal Injury. 

Martin is presumed innocent. Martin was transported to Lancaster County Central Arraignment.
