Police searching for man who robbed bank

READING, Pa. - Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank just after noon Monday.

The holdup happened at the Citizens Bank in the 800 block of Lancaster Avenue in southwest Reading.

The robber handed a teller a note stating he had a weapon and demanding money, said police, adding that no weapon was actually seen.

The robber made off with cash from the bank, last seen walking toward the nearby Dunkin' Donuts, police said.

The robber was described as a black or Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, a black and green hat and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
