Man steals vehicle, robs bank in Schuykill County, police say

Police look for car thief, bank robber

FRACKVILLE, Pa. - Police in Schuylkill County are searching for a bank robber, who's also a car thief.

Police said a man stole a vehicle in Frackville,  then entered the National Penn Bank in the Schuylkill Mall, acting as though he had a gun.

The man was able to make off with an undisclosed amount of money.. then left the stolen vehicle in Frackville a short time after.

Police say the man apparently made a second attempt to rob the Wells Fargo Bank on Atlamont Boulevard in West Mahanoy Township,  but couldn't enter the building.

He is described as a white male in his 20s or 30s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build.

Police are investigating.
