Men accused in deadly Bethlehem shootout arraigned

Two men accused in a deadly shoot-out in Bethlehem have been transferred from the hospital to the Northampton County Prison.

Rene Figueroa and Javier Rivera-Alvarado were formally arraigned Monday morning.

Last weekend, police say the men were involved in a fight that started inside the Puerto Rican Beneficial Society and escalated into a gun battle on East Third Street.

Officials say Yolanda Morales, 23, was caught in the crossfire and was killed.

Figueroa has been charged with her death.

Five other people including the accused shooters were hurt.

Both men are facing multiple counts of attempted homicide and assault.
