Father remains hospitalized with injuries suffered in Bethlehem attack Tuesday

Bethlehem man to be charged with homicide in mother's death

EASTON, Pa. - A man accused of beating his mother to death earlier this week will be charged with homicide, prosecutors announced Thursday.

Michael Lindgren is already behind bars on charges he assaulted both his mother and father inside their home on East Wall Street in Bethlehem early Tuesday morning.

Shirley Lindgren died the next day of severe head injuries, according to results of an autopsy performed Thursday. Her death cleared the way for the homicide charges to be filed against Michael, said Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli.

Michael's father, Ralph, remains hospitalized, officials said.
