More than 3,700 looking for work after Philadelphia School District layoffs

PHILADELPHIA - Thousands of workers in Philly are looking for new jobs tonight, after the Philadelphia School District announced one of the biggest education layoffs in recent history.

The Superintendent of schools says more than 37-hundred employees will be laid off due to on-going financial struggles. The district is facing a $304-million shortfall.

According to officials, those affected by the layoff will receive a notice by July 1st.
