Motorcyclist dies in Lancaster Couny crash

ELIZABETH TWP., Pa. - A motorcyclist died in a Lancaster County crash Friday afternoon.

Police identified the man as Brandon Rico of Newmanstown.

According to police, an SUV driven by a Shoemakersville, Pa. woman was traveling north on Route 501 in Elizabeth Township just after 12:30 p.m.

She began to turn left into the parking lot of the Pretzel Hut.

Rico, who was wearing a helmet, was traveling south on Route 501 and attempted to slow down.

Police say he lost control of the motorcycle and fell over on the roadway

According to police, the motorcycle and the SUV made contact and Rico slid under the SUV.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither the woman nor the three children in the SUV were injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
