Motorcyclist dies in Schuylkill County crash

Travis McGee of Shenandoah pronounced dead at hospital.

BLYTHE TWP., Pa. - A 23-year-old motorcyclist died after his bike hit a metal gate and utility pole Sunday afternoon in Schuylkill County.

According to state police, Travis McGee of Shenandoah was traveling eastbound on a dirt road about 1/4 mile east of Burma Road in Blythe Township around 12:30 p.m. when the front of his bike hit a metal gate that closed the dirt road.

After hitting the metal gate, McGee then hit a utility pole, police said. Friends riding with him called 911.

McGee was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center South, but was pronounced dead there by the hospital coroner, police said.
