Murder-suicide attempt leads to neighborhood evacuation in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY TWP., Pa. - Police are investigating a reported murder-suicide attempt in Montgomery County.

First responders received a report of a shooting around 10 a.m. Monday at 2201 Harvard Dr. in Montgomery Township.

According to our media partner, WPVI-TV, police found a woman who had been shot. She was flown to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Police found a man inside the home and SWAT officers were called to evacuate neighbors and attempt to reach the man inside. That man was eventually found dead, WPVI reported.

The victims' identities have not been released.

According to North Penn School District officials, Knapp Elementary School at 698 Knapp Rd. in Lansdale was briefly put on lock down Monday morning as a result of the police activity.
