N.J. man sentenced for sexual contact with child

55-year-old George Holtzman engaged in sexual acts with 13-year-old

FLEMINGTON, N.J. - Fifty-five-year-old George Holtzman of Flemington has been sentenced to seven years in New Jersey State Prison for having sexual contact with a child under the age of 13.

"The defendant engaged in sexual acts upon a child less than 13 years of age," said Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III in a news release. "The abuse started when the victim was less than 13 and continued for a period of time past the age of 13."

Arrested in 2011, Holtzman had pleaded guilty to sexual assault.

The June 12 sentence handed down by Hunterdon County Judge Stephen B. Rubin stipulates that Holtzman must be under parole supervision for life and monitored under Megan's Law.

The investigation leading to Holtzman's arrest was conducted by detectives in the special victim's unit of the county's prosecutor's office, New Jersey State Police and the Flemington Borough Police Department.
