Nazareth gearing up for shootout with Parkland

It was back in 2002 that Rob Melosky led the Parkland Trojans to their first ever state championship.

Now, 10 years later, Melosky is at Nazareth and Jim Morgans is at Parkland.  And these days, the two teams look like mirror images of one another.

Melosky used his high-flying, spread offense to lead Nazareth to its first District 11 4-A title last year, and he has the Blue Eagles out to 4-1 start this season.

Morgans, meanwhile, had always run the Wing-T offense.  But this year, he decided to change.

Tim Moncman came in to run the defense, and Tim McGorry, who helped design the state championship offense that Central Catholic used two years ago, was brought in to run the Trojans' offense.

On Friday, Parkland and Nazareth will go head-to-head in Orefield, in a matchup that should produce plenty of points.
