Corbett: NJ gay marriage ruling has no effect on PA

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett says New Jersey's legal proceedings will not impact litigation seeking to end a ban on same-sex marriages in Pennsylvania.

"It has no precedence to this case," said Corbett. "The cases that are here will go up through the court system. We have a federal case that's in Harrisburg in front of Judge Jones. We also have other cases in the commonwealth that will go up through the state's court system."

Corbett is opposed to allowing same-sex marriages in Pennsylvania.

The governor made these remarks Monday during a visit to Allentown.
