There are some big races to follow in Pennsylvania and New Jersey on Election Day.
New Jersey is one of only two states in the country electing governors Tuesday.
Mayor Chris Christie's term is coming to a close at the end of this year, with record low approval ratings.
Two candidates are vying for the seat: Republican candidate Kim Guadagno and Democratic pick Phil Murphy.
During the race, Murphy campaigned on Christie's low approval ratings, while Guadagno, Christie's former Republican lieutenant governor, distanced herself from him.
Instead, Guadagno focused her campaign on a promise to lower property taxes. Recently she's also weighed in on immigration policy, calling for a ban on sanctuary cities.
Murphy, the former Goldman Sachs executive and U.S. Ambassador to Germany, spent tens of millions of his own dollars on the race. He's promised to help boost the state's economy and to "have the backs" of the state's illegal immigrants.
Murphy has had to defend 20 years with Goldman while Guadagno has called him out of touch with the average American.
Murphy has been leading in the polls by double digits.
Polls in New Jersey are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
