NJ Boardwalk fire ruled accidental

SEASIDE PARK, N.J. - A fire that consumed a stretch of boardwalk in Seaside Park, New Jersey, has been ruled an accident.

Law enforcement officials said the ruling was made Monday night.

Officials are not releasing any other details at this time.

The blaze destroyed dozens of businesses Thursday in an area that was still recovering from Superstorm Sandy.

The Christie administration says it will use Superstorm Sandy-recovery money to pay for debris removal at the scene of the boardwalk fire in Seaside Park and Seaside Heights.

The administration says it hopes the extra aid will speed the rebuilding.

Thursday's fire destroyed four blocks of boardwalk businesses.
