Woman pleads guilty in theft of police car, chase

PHILADELPHIA - A Lehigh County woman who's accused of leading police on a drug-fueled chase has admitted to the crime.

Shayna Sykes, of Macungie, Lehigh Co., pleaded guilty Friday to aggravated assault and other charges.

Sykes and her fiance, Blake Bills, stole a police car in Camden, N.J., in March and led police on a chase across the Delaware River into Philadelphia, where they were stopped, police said.

Sykes stole a police car while Bills was being arrested, police said.

The couple told police they had been using heroin and cocaine leading up to the incident.
