Tuesday was primary election day in New Jersey, with the big race being the one for governor.
Some voters say they're paying close attention to their local races too.
All of the people casting their ballots here say they have to vote because it's the way to have their voices heard, but some differ on which contested race brought them to the polls.
Many say the governor's race is what brought them out. There are 11 candidates on the ballot between the Republican and Democratic parties.
Outgoing Governor Chris Christie even cast his ballot in Morris County, for who he thought should replace him - Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno.
"I think the biggest endorsement you give somebody is your vote. I've worked with her for 8 years, I believe she is the best person in the Republican primary to represent the party in the fall," Christie said.
Others at the polls say they don't even worry about what is going on in Trenton.
The polls were open until 8 in New Jersey.
