New Parking Meters To Accept Credit Cards

READING, Pa. - The Reading Parking Authority is going to let drivers pay to park with plastic.

The authority has approved a test drive of sorts for new parking meters that take credit cards.

It will start with 60 meters in January and last for about three months.

Officials have not yet said where the new meters will go.

The authority is scrapping a plan that let drivers pay to park with their cell phone.

Officials said customers weren't using the feature.
