BETHLEHEM. Pa. - If you've flown recently you know the struggle.
There can be long lines at TSA. Then you have to remove your shoes, belt, jacket, electronics and those less than 3 ounce fluids stored in a half gallon baggie,
But that doesn't have to be your reality before you board a flight.
"TSA pre-check is an expedited program for identified, low-risk travelers. They will enjoy a more efficient screening process" said Colin Riccobon with Lehigh Valley International Airport.
The temporary enrollment center will allow travelers in the Lehigh Valley to enroll closer to home instead of having to travel to further enrollment centers like in Philadelphia.
"It is a two week temporary enrollment center here at LVIA. It starts Monday, October 2 and it goes through Friday, October 13," said Riccobon.
When you enroll in TSA PreCheck you get a Known Traveler Number and it helps you bypass some of the more frustrating aspects of TSA checkpoints at most airports across the country without compromising traveler safety.
Applicants provide fingerprints and information for an in-depth background check.
The application fee is $85 and is valid for five years.
Appointments are encouraged but walk in's will be accepted too.
Just stop by the airport from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
There will be no weekend enrollment hours.
To make appointments and learn more about the program you can log onto LVIA.com or TSA.gov.
