PA judge retirement age requirement headed to Supreme Court
Is putting an age limit on judges in Pennsylvania an act of age discrimination?
The answer to that question is now in the hands of the state's Supreme Court.
The court says it will consider Montgomery County Judge Arthur Tilson's challenge to the rule.
As of now the state constitution requires that any judge or justice must retire in the calendar year in which they turn 70.
Officials say oral arguments could be heard starting in May.
