WASHINGTON, D.C. -

US Senator Pat Toomey was among the Pennsylvania Republicans who voted against the debt deal Wednesday night.

Toomey says he supports re-opening the government but he says the measure doesn't address the nation's overspending problem.

Toomey was among five of Pennsylvania's 14 Republican members of Congress who voted "no."

So was Congressman Joe Pitts.

That puts them in the majority of 277 Republicans in Congress who also voted down the bill.

All six of Pennsylvania's Democrats in Congress voted for the legislation.
