Some people in the Lehigh Valley said they are unhappy with how one political race is shaping up.
Republican Ryan Mackenzie and Democrat Patrick Slattery are vying for the 134th District House seat, which was left vacant when Doug Reichly left to become a judge.
In a new campaign ad, Mackenzie's team takes aim at Slattery's work as business administrator for KidsPeace.
The ad alleges the organization has missed pension payments and bond payments.
A group of people met Friday to call on Mackenzie to stop using KidsPeace in the ad.
"The organization does great things for the community throughout the Lehigh Valley," said Tara Anthony, a KidsPeace supporter. "It's created many jobs and has served its purpose. It has helped treat children and will continue to treat children and it has nothing to do with what he had put out there in the commercial."
A special election to fill the seat will be held on April 24, the same day as the Pennsylvania primary.
In Berks County, the 134th District includes the boroughs of Bally and Bechtelsville and District, Hereford and Washington townships.
In Lehigh County, the district includes the boroughs Alburtis, Emmaus and Macungie, all of Lower Macungie Township and parts of Salisbury, South Whitehall , Upper Macungie and Upper Milford townships.
