Coffee will bring cops and the community together in Reading this weekend.

The Reading Police Department and the Berks County Bar Association will host a "Coffee with a Cop" session at the Queen City Family Restaurant, 100 Lancaster Avenue, on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

The goal of the program is to provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions and learn more about the RPD's work in the city's neighborhoods.

"We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns or simply get to know our officers," said Chief Andres Dominquez, Reading Police Department. "These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships."

"Coffee with a Cop" is a national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice.
