A chain reaction crash involving six vehicles closed a stretch of the West Shore Bypass on Wednesday, police said.

The accident happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Route 422, about a 1/4 mile east of Interstate 176, in Exeter Twp., Berks Co.

Multiple ambulances responded to the scene, but no one was seriously injured, police said.

The bypass was closed for about an hour until crews could remove the damaged vehicles.
