Police have arrested a man for allegedly firing a gun at a person he was arguing with while police said a grandparent and three small children were in the line of fire.
Antonio Laurencio fired a shot at one of two people with whom he was arguing in the 1200 block of Greenwich Street around 11 a.m. last Wednesday, according to court documents.
The intended target, police said, then ducked for cover behind a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Birch Street while a grandparent and three small children were sitting on the side porch of a nearby home.
Laurencio, 55, of Reading, looked the grandparent in the eyes while pointing the gun at his intended target, said police, adding that the grandparent began grabbing the grandchildren as Laurencio opened fire.
No one was physically harmed in the shooting, however, a vehicle parked on Greenwich Street was struck by one of the bullets, police said.
Laurencio was arrested Monday night on charges of recklessly endangering another person, aggravated assault and related offenses. He was committed to the Berks County Jail on $1 million bail.
