A teenager and an adult man have been apprehended in connection with a homicide that happened in Reading last week.

Estiben Manso, 16, and Leonardo Mojica-Carrion, 20, were charged Tuesday with 2nd and 3rd degree murder in the deadly shooting last Friday of a man in the 700 block of Lance Place, police said.

Loved ones say the victim, Galdino Rama Aguilar, 30, was a dedicated father and a good friend.

"He wouldn't bother nobody," said Jessica Vega, friend. "He was a happy person. He didn't even drink."

Manso told investigators he and the other suspect followed Aguilar from the area of N. 9th and Windsor streets to the parking lot of the south side of the 800 block of Douglass, according to court documents.

Estiben said he knew the other suspect was going to rob Aguilar because he needed money for rent, court documents indicated, adding that the other suspect shot the victim when he began to run.

Police say thanks to surveillance footage from several sources in the area, they were able to gather the evidence they needed to arrests the two suspects.

"We could pretty much follow their trail as they were walking to the area where the homicide occured," said Sgt. Matthew Schappell, Reading Police Dept.

Loved ones say the victim will be buried in his hometown of Tolúca, Mexico.
