A Reading woman is under arrest for allegedly sexually abusing a 9-year-old boy.

Jalissa Baez sexually abused the boy on several occasions while babysitting between March and June 2012 at a home in the 200 block of Pear Street, authorities said.

The Berks County district attorney's office began investigating Baez, 19, last August after receiving a report from Reading police of possible abuse.

Baez was taken into custody Thursday.
