STRAUSSTOWN, Pa. -

The newest senior center in northwestern Berks County already has quite a following.

Berks Encore invited seniors to celebrate the center's grand opening Monday morning.

Folks got to eat cake, mingle and even learn about the heath care options.

The center is in the refurbished Strausstown Elementary School on Route 183.

The folks on hand Monday said they really like the location.

"This makes it more convenient and gives us something to do. We've got plenty to do, but this gives us something else," said Louis Brown, Rehrersburg.

The center offers exercise classes, knitting classes and bingo.
