Brush fire closes Route 562 for 2 hours

DOUGLASS TWP., Pa. -

Part of Route 562 was closed while crews battled a brush fire.

Hoses covered the road in Douglass Twp., Berks Co., Wednesday afternoon as firefighters from several companies worked to contain the smoke and flames.

The fire broke out around 1 p.m. near Farmington Avenue.

Firefighters used chain saws to cut through the brush to get to the fire.

Officials have not determined how the fire started.
