Students at Daniel Boone High School are giving the local blood supply a helping arm.
Some seniors organized a blood drive for the Miller Keystone Blood Center on Monday.
There's a critical need for blood in our region.
Students said the drive took two weeks to put together, and more events are in the works, including the annual Angela Hohl Memorial Blood Drive later this year.
"In total, we're having three drives with these bloodmobiles, and we have the big one in December. Our goal is to have the most donations on the county with just the bloodmobiles, not counting our big one in December," said student Amanda Kijak.
About 100 people signed up to donate Monday. Students said they hoped to collect around 80 pints of blood.
