Demolition underway at old Berks Heim

BERN TWP., Pa. -

Demolition is under way at the Old Berks Heim in Bern Township.

The building used to be home to the coroner's office, veterans affairs and an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement shelter.

County officials decided to tear it down to save the county more than five million dollars.
