Eli Katzin arrested in robbery of Mike's Grocery Store in Reading

Police have nabbed a suspect in the robbery of a grocery store in Reading over the weekend.

Eli Katzin robbed Mike's Grocery Store in the 500 block of North 9th Street around 10 a.m. last Saturday, police said.

"I don't want to hurt anybody, but I have a gun, so give me the money," Katzin told a clerk, according to court documents.

The clerk, police said, then handed over cash from the register.

"I know you have more than that," replied Katzin, according to court documents. "Give me the rest."

The clerk then gave him additional money, and Katzin fled the store, police said.

Katzin was later picked up on unrelated scofflaw warrants and identified as the robbery suspect, police said.
