Familiar face to lead new police department

MAXATAWNY TWP., Pa. -

A newly created police department will have a familiar face at its helm.

Officials in Maxatawny Twp., Berks Co., have tapped Roger Heins to be the township's new police chief.

Heins is currently the chief of the Berks Lehigh Regional Police Department, which will be disbanding later this year.

The new Maxatawny force will also contract to Topton and Lyons, Heins said..
