Inmate ordered to trial in murder-for-hire plot

A man accused of trying to arrange a number of murders while behind bars will stand trial.

Christopher Yingling tried to put a hit on victims of and witnesses to his previous crimes, including a man he's accused of shooting in Spring Twp., Berks Co., in January, and a young girl he allegedly tried to sell for sex, authorities said.

Witnesses who intercepted phone conversations helped them break up the plot before anything was carried out, investigators said.

Yingling was charged earlier this month with criminal solicitation to commit first degree murder. He was returned to the Berks County Jail after Tuesday's hearing.
