Jose Ocasio arrested in robberies of banks in Berks, Lancaster counties
Suspect also robbed Country Cupboard on Route 422 near Lebanon, police say
A Lebanon man has been arrested in the robberies of two banks and a restaurant.
Jose Miguel Ocasio was nabbed by police on March 18, two days after the robbery of the Country Cupboard restaurant and store on Route 422 in North Lebanon Twp., Lebanon Co., police said.
Ocasio, 52, was subsequently identified Friday as the suspect in the robbery of the Metro Bank on the North 5th Street Highway in Muhlenberg Twp., Berks Co., on March 13 and a Metro Bank branch in East Hempfield Twp., Lancaster Co., on March 15, police said.
In the Muhlenberg holdup, police said Ocasio waited his turn in line before approaching a teller with a handgun and saying, "This is no joke. Give me the money."
Ocasio is currently being held in the Lebanon County Prison on robbery, simple assault and reckless endangerment charges related to the Country Cupboard holdup. Police said he is also facing charges in the two bank robberies.
