A group of Albright College students is working to clean up around campus ahead of the fall semester.
The students partnered with the Reading Recreation Commission to clean up the walkways along Oak Lane.
The sidewalk was overgrown with weeds, and the students spent the day clearing it all out. Organizers said it was a big help to the city.
"The city, we're kind of stretched a little thin with some of the resources we have, and having volunteers take care of some of the things like this, up here on Oak Lane and other areas of the city, helps out a great deal," said Steve Harrity, pres., Reading Beautification.
Officials said the students are planning to pitch in with different city projects throughout the school year.
