Boyertown schools superintendent announces resignation
Dion Betts will stay on job until Jan. 4, 2013
The superintendent of the Boyertown School District has decided it's time to move on.
Dion Betts announced his resignation Friday, but he'll stay on the job to provide transition support until Jan. 4, 2013.
"I am tendering my resignation to pursue other opportunities in education management, consulting, and adjunct professorships," Betts said. The board of directors and I are very proud of the staff, students, and community of Boyertown for their hard work, dedication, and support of our schools."
Betts joined Boyertown as superintendent in 2010 after serving as an assistant to the superintendent in the South Western School District and as a special education supervisor in the Central Dauphin School District.
Boyertown is the second largest school district based in Berks County. It also includes students who live in the neighboring Montgomery County municipalities of Douglass, New Hanover and Upper Frederick townships.
