Cars collide on Lindbergh Viaduct in Reading
2 people taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
An accident on the Lindbergh Viaduct sent two people to the hospital Friday afternoon.
Two cars collided shortly after noon on the bridge over Pendora Park between east Reading and Mount Penn.
One of the cars, which was heading into the city, veered out of control, traveled into oncoming traffic and was broadsided by the other car, police said. The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles.
Two people were taken to the hospital, but officials on the scene said their injuries were not life-threatening.
Firefighters were pressed into action to clean up a large amount of fluids that leaked from the cars, both of which had to be towed from the scene.
