Crime Alert is asking for your help to "Buck Crime in Berks County."

The crime tip group on Wednesday re-launched its program to raise money. The cash will be paid to tipsters who help police make arrests.

Special collection boxes will be set up at Redner's, Dairy Queen, and A to Z Vacuum. Organizers said they hope more businesses will get involved.

"You know, we talked for years now, if everybody in Berks County gave a buck, we'd have over $400,000 we could use for tips," said Barry Rohrbach, president, Crime Alert.

Crime Alert asked people to send a dollar in the mail a few years ago, but with the rising cost of postage, officials said they hope having collection boxes scattered around Berks will encourage more people to donate money.
