BETHEL TWP., Pa. -

An industrial park in Berks County is getting $500,000 for upgrades.

The money will help pay for a $1.2 million project to supply water to the buildings at Berks Park 78 in Bethel Township, officials said. The money comes from a state program for infrastructure projects.

It's a good investment, officials said.

"It's very important infrastructure that is needed for companies that are going to locate here at the park," said Thomas McKeon, Berks County Industrial Development Authority.

A PetSmart distribution center and Dollar General warehouse are already planned for the park. They're expected to bring a combined 1,000 jobs to Berks.
