READING, Pa. -

A man has been charged in connection with a freak accident that killed another man in February.

The accident happened Feb. 29 on the Warren Street Bypass -- Route 12 -- in Reading.

Two people involved in a minor accident in the eastbound lanes of the bypass were diverting traffic around the scene when a speeding truck, driven by Brad Feltenberger, hit one of the two people, police said.

That person, identified as Jorge Rodriguez-Cintron, was thrown from the eastbound side of the highway onto the outer shoulder of the westbound lanes, according to court documents. Rodriguez-Cintron died of his injuries the next day, police said.

Feltenberger, 40, of Muhlenberg Township, who admitted to police that he drank alcohol earlier in the evening, was found to have a blood alcohol level of .177%, according to court documents.

Feltenberger was charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving and related offenses. He is free on bail.
