READING, Pa. -

The McDonald's on Lancaster Avenue in southwest Reading is inviting its neighbors to enjoy a free cup of "Coffee with a Cop."

The restaurant will host city police officers Thursday morning for a discussion about after-school safety and other neighborhood needs in Reading.

The goal of the hour-long program, which will begin at 8 a.m., is to facilitate the communication between the Reading Police Department and the people it serves, said Christian Rawden, owner of the McDonald’s, which is located at 400 Lancaster Ave.
