Pa. agriculture secretary spends 'Ag Day' in Berks County

Farmers are being celebrated across the nation, especially in Berks County.

The secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture stopped by the Ag Center in Bern Township to mark national Ag Day on Thursday.

George Greig praised Berks County for working hard to preserve its farm land.

"Here in Berks County, they have over 65,000 acres preserved, and in state we have 471,000, so you know that that is a large part of Pennsylvania preserved land is here in Berks County," said Greig.

Farming is the number one industry in Berks County and the state.
