Police: Reading woman abandoned baby inside building

Charges are pending against a woman who abandoned her 2-1/2-month-old baby in Reading, police said.
The woman left the child in the common area of a building in the 700 block of Weiser Street Thursday night, police said.
The woman told investigators she was afraid she was going to harm the child, who has since been taken by children and youth services.
The woman is in custody.
