Reading police are trying to get to the bottom of a bizarre case involving a woman who was found naked in a wooded area.

Police say the woman tells them she was abducted.

She was discovered Monday near the Fire Tower in Lower Alsace Township.

Police say they want to take the opportunity to assure the public there is no one out here randomly kidnapping women.

They say they do believe this woman was targeted.

It was Monday evening around 5:30, when Reading Police and Central Berks Police officers responded to the area of the Fire Tower on Skyline Drive in Lower Alcase Township.

Police say they discovered a woman completely naked.

Investigators say the woman reported to police that she was abducted at gun point in the city by two men.

Authorities say the woman was not injured but taken to the hospital for evaluation.

About a month ago, another woman was kidnapped in the city and left naked at Egelman's Park.

Police say that crime and Monday's incident are not related in any way.

Again, poilce say they believe the woman from the Monday night incident was targeted.
