A police officer who's accused of using his Taser on his father and two fellow officers had his day in court Wednesday.
Matthew Beighley entered the ARD program in connection with charges he faces for unlawful use of a Taser.
The ARD -- Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition -- program does not assume guilt. The charges will be expunged from Beighley's record if he successfully completes probation.
On numerous occasions in 2010 and 2011, Berks County detectives said Beighley used a West Reading Police Department-issued Taser, even though he wasn't arresting anyone.
Two of those the Taser was used on were fellow West Reading police officers, police said.
District Attorney John Adams said Beighley also used the Taser on his father and recorded video of the incident, which was later posted on YouTube.
Beighley is currently suspended from the force without pay.
