CAERNARVON TWP., Pa. -

An accident involving an overturned truck closed a stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and backed up traffic for miles Monday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly before 2 p.m. at the Morgantown interchange (Exit 298) in Caernarvon Twp., Berks Co.

Eastbound traffic, which officials said was backed up about three miles at one point, was being off the turnpike at Morgantown for more than three hours until the highway could be cleared around 5:30 p.m.

Officials have not said whether anyone was injured in the accident.
